My best friend lives in Finland. Some winters the sun barely shows up — an hour, maybe two, then it's dark again.
She came to visit me one December. All she wanted was sun. She kept saying it, over and over, like she couldn't believe how much of it there was.
I wanted to send her some. Not a photo of it — the actual light.
That's this card. Blue, because that's the color of every good thing I remember about summer: the ocean, an ice-cold soda, a sky that doesn't end. Hold the film up to the light and it stops being a picture. It's just there — on your desk, on your hands.
Blue is where we're starting. There will be other colors.
